A group of CPC sixth form students have won a UNESCO/National Trust competition for producing a digital scrapbook on the Giants Causeway. The competition was open to all schools in the Moyle and North Coast areas. The students produced a wide range of photographs of the Giants Causeway, a Virtual Tour and two short dramatisations of stories associated with the Causeway. This was all part of their enrichment time at the school where they are taught digital photography by Mr. Eamonn McVeigh. The group consisted of Lee McLaughlin, Conor Clarke, Seamus Connor, Ruairi Nevin, Aidan Busby, Daniel McGowan, Andrew Fletcher, Mariusz Gappa, Peter McGolderick, Ailbhe McLaughlin, Shannon McKenna, Orla Cassley, Annie McAfee and Orlagh McAteer. The prize for the winning school is a 3 day trip for 5 students and 2 teachers to the UNESCO International Youth Summit in the Greenwich Maritime Museum in London at the end of June, where they will take part in a busy and varied agenda of activities including presentations about the 2012 Olympics.
